The program emphasizes practical, hands-on learning and is tailored for students who aim to enhance their problem-solving abilities through the application of IT tools and techniques.
The program prepares the learner in the following areas: Programming, data structures and algorithms, computer networks, web development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile programming, database systems, human computer interaction, embedded systems, systems security, computer graphics, Internet of Things. It includes a three-month program of industrial attachment where the learner is exposed to the world of computing.
The department has club know as Daystar Information Technology(DITA) which nurture innovation in computing and facilitates mentorship.
The program equips the learner a solid foundation in liberal arts preparing them to serve the community and the world at large professionally and ethically.
A mean grade of C+ (plus) and above in KCSE, or 5 credits in IGCSE with 2 credits passes in A level or division 2 in GCE.
