The objectives of the Master of Public Health (MPH) programme are to prepare graduates for the following careers:
Public Health Agencies and Ministries of Health: Designing, implementing, and evaluating population-level health interventions and policies; Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and International Organizations (e.g., WHO, UNICEF, CDC): Leading global health initiatives, emergency response, and health equity programs; Healthcare Systems and Hospitals: Managing epidemiology, health promotion, and community health services; Consultancy and Private Sector: Providing expert advice on public health strategy, occupational health, and corporate wellness programs; Government Service: Developing national health policy, regulating public health standards, and overseeing disease surveillance and control; General: Academia, research institutions, environmental health organizations, philanthropy, and community-based organizations.
To continue their studies at the doctoral level (e.g., DrPH or PhD in Public Health), to qualify for professional certifications such as the Certified in Public Health (CPH) credential or advanced fellowships, and to conduct impactful research in areas such as epidemiology, health policy, environmental health, global health, and social determinants of health.
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale or an Upper Second Class Honours. A Lower Second Class Honours with 2 years' relevant work experience may be considered.
